My Story
I grew up listening to blues based music, classic rock, The Beatles, the British invasion, Motown and Pop music. I love it all. When I heard the Allman Brothers, Miles Davis, Weather Report etc. that changed the course of my musical direction but I never lost interest in all the music that came before it.
After leaving Boston University, I studied with a number of different music teachers, including John Scofield, Ron Bridgewater, Steve Grossman, and Hal Galper but my main teacher and mentor was Linc Chamberland. Linc opened up the world of music and it’s possibilities for me and many others.
I’ve been playing professionally since I was in my late teens, many gigs, recording sessions and playing with many wonderful musicians along the way. Teaching was something that found me early on and I grew to really enjoy it. I like the personal interactions of one on one lessons and finding a way to see each student succeed in attaining their own musical goals, no matter their age, experience or level of playing. All of my past listening, and playing experience has been a perfect fit for my teaching business and I truly value the relationships I’ve made along the way.
